DRAPER STARTUP HOUSE

The brief was to convert a old printing press factory in the Guindy Industrial Estate into a co working space for The international brand - Draper Startup House. with design freedom, Being an old factory, the uninteruppted floor plan gave creative freedom for spatial planning. we conceptualised different kinds of seating arragments that could cater to different preferences which were arranged into four zones, interspaced with workstations for hire. These different kinds of working/discussion spaces provide a well needed break fromthe monotony of sitting at a desk, making the tedious office a lively and fun enviroment. They also help with good networking between the users. Exisiting blaconies were converted into semi open break out areas. To conenct the two floors and to introduce an central anchor space where everyone could unwind and chill, work casually, grab a cup - we created The Hive - an amphitheatre style congragational space, connecting the ground and first floors, with a adjacent kichenette.  

The interior color pallette and theme was focused on clarity, ease of usage and being inviting. Primary colours were majorly used for thier bright appeal, privacy was ensured by providing dividers topped with plants between the zones and workstations. The sprinkler system that was a bylaw mandate was adapted into signage for way finding.
