A cozy one-storeyed villa located within the Prestige Woods township in Bangalore is the shell that required an interior makeover. Our clients, native Mangaloreans and deeply rooted in the rich history and wooden architecture of Mangalore, wanted their new home in the city to carry the essence and aesthetic of their ancestral property, or guthu mane.

While functioning as a typical modern house, the look and feel conceptualized for the interiors were derived from native Mangalorean woodwork. The mahogany palette, brass antiques and fixtures, and ethnic wooden furniture from a bygone era—like the quintessential vakil bench—were all handpicked to curate a minimal, modern home that strongly exhibited the culture and architecture of Mangalore in all its class and glory.
