For TAIYO’s maiden retail store (specializing in wholesale pet foods), our design approach merges functionality with immersive experience—transforming a typical pet store into a vibrant underwater escape.

Rather than treating displays as mere tools to showcase variety or stock, we reimagine them as living installations—sensory, aesthetic, and therapeutic. These aquarium-style displays allow visitors to experience the joy of observing aquatic life, creating a calming and engaging atmosphere within the store.

The design blurs the line between a fish retail outlet and an aquarium experience centre. Customers don’t just come to buy—they come to explore, linger, relax, and enjoy. This shift in perception shapes our spatial planning, display design, and overall store interiors.

Given the franchise-based model of TAIYO, standardization of products, displays, and branding is key to rapid expansion. We addressed this by prototyping every element—display units, product layouts, finishes, and colour schemes—ensuring scalability while maintaining a cohesive, memorable aesthetic across all future stores.
